Toda Erika (34) was reported by some outlets to be making a "proper comeback" in a TBS drama slated for Jan 2023.
However, this piece of news appeared to be unconfirmed, with another report mentioning that a different actress has now been casted.
In the meantime, the movie Bosei (Maternal Instinct) headlined by Toda Erika and Nagano Mei is slated to premiere in November later this year.

1. [+7867] She had always been frequently on the main cast of her works and was promoting in variety shows. It isn't strange for her to keep some time off work to build a family, everyone needs some time to rest.
Especially these few years in the pandemic where it becomes draining.
I will wait quietly for the day where I can see Toda-san in a new role.
2. [+2587] She was always busy so it's good to take a break when she got married. It wouldn't be weird even if she became pregnant, though we can only imagine what happens, so it isn't unreasonable if she has to drop out suddenly. There are also cases where actresses have made a comeback after becoming a mother, it's alright to wait.
She's an actress with a good track record and great acting skills so there will still be a demand for her even with a empty gap of a few years.
>> [+149] Matsushima Nanako and Suzuki Honami also showed great acting with their comebacks. I think it's great if she does the same too.
3. [+2757] Why can't she be allowed to take a good break? Is making the time to support her husband such a bad thing? (Acting) is different from normal jobs - the schedule is irregular and restrictive for a long period and it's tiring to be acting as someone else. Resting when one wants to, isn't that fine?
"I want to see her soon" - such positive articles are fine but it's not really our concern even though I'm saying it after reading this.
