On their recent YouTube Live, Domoto Koichi performed “Boku wa Omou” while Domoto Tsuyoshi performed “Hitori Jyanai”- solo tracks on their first album “A Album”released in 1997.
The songs were in fact, theme songs of hit J-dramas that were headlined by KinKi Kids themselves, years before their official CD debut.
“Boku wa Omou” was the theme song Ginrou Kaiki File that was broadcasted on NTV in 1996.
“Hitori jyanai” was the theme song of Season 1 of Kindaichi Shonen Files that was broadcasted on NTV in 1995.
Towards the end of the performance, Koichi urged Tsuyoshi to deliver his famous line from the detective series, to which he compiled.
About Kindaichi Shonen Files: Adapted from a youth detective manga series from the same name, there had since been 5 generations of Kindaichi (all headline by idols from the same agency), with Tsuyoshi being the first to play the live action version of Kindaichi Hajime.
KinKi Kids welcomed their 25th year this year and special YouTube live performances have been released on their YouTube channel.
